Reverse Graffiti, where the artist’s tools are cleaning materials rather than paint. Also known as clean tagging, dust tagging, grime writing or clean advertising, this is a method of creating temporary images on walls or other surfaces by removing dirt.
I have personally managed and carried out many reverse graffiti advertising campaigns, unfortunately, most businesses have not been interested in really exploiting the true creative potential of this brilliant form of advertising. Being highly focused with locations, creative with the imagery or imaginative with the story you build into the marketing message we can transform a now standard communication technique into a powerful and memorable event.
If you would like to learn how to carry out your own standard reverse graffiti / clean advertising campaign check out my blog post here.
Please view the video to see one of my favourite reverse graffiti campaigns from one of the top ad agencies in the world. I really like the way they created a connection between the advertising technique and a feature of the product which is not immediately obvious. Shows the diference a little thought and creatvity can make to a campaigns effectiveness.
I would love to speak with someone who would like to use reverse graffiti advertising with some creativity and thought, I’m sure we could come up with a great campaign! So if thats you..? Please get in touch.
We were really happy with the campaign which Gareth deliverd. The campaign was executed quickly and timely which resulted in increased exposure of the festival which I don’t think we could have achieved any other way. I look forward to working with Gareth on future markeing projects
